An undercounter Sub-Zero lives in the hardest place in the kitchen. It sits inside a run of cabinetry with a worktop over it, frequently beside a dishwasher or an oven, and the airflow it needs is the first thing sacrificed when a kitchen is refitted. A cabinet that has run correctly for years and then started struggling after building work almost always has an airflow cause.
That matters more in this climate than in most. A condenser that cannot exhaust into a hot, enclosed cabinetry void is being asked to do something it cannot, and no amount of condenser cleaning will compensate for it.

The 24 inch undercounter refrigerator and the combination model share a 23-1/8 inch depth and a 34-1/2 inch standard height. The combination cabinet carries both refrigeration and a second function in one body, which means two duties from one machine compartment and a correspondingly smaller margin when the coil loads up.
Sub-Zero ADA height undercounter models
The DEU2450RADA and DEU2450BGADA stand 32-1/2 inches high rather than 34-1/2. The two inches come out of the cabinet, not out of the opening around it, so an ADA unit fitted into a standard opening can end up with its airflow path altered in ways the installer did not intend.

A custom panel on an undercounter cabinet is limited to 15 lb, with a thickness between 5/8 and 3/4 of an inch. That is a fraction of what a full-height door carries, and a solid timber panel made to match nearby joinery will exceed it easily. The result is a door that sits proud and a gasket that never seals.

The DEU2450RO is the outdoor member of the range, and Sub-Zero is specific that a product must be approved for outdoor use by model and serial number. Outdoor units carry their own warranty: a full one year on parts and labour, plus the same full five year sealed system cover on the compressor, condenser, evaporator, drier and connecting tubing.
In a Valley summer an outdoor cabinet is the most heavily loaded refrigeration on the property. Everything this site says about condensers applies double here, and the yearly maintenance routine is not optional on one.

What is the difference between a Sub-Zero beverage centre and an undercounter refrigerator?
The beverage centre, DEU2450BG or DEU1550BG, is configured for bottles and cans; the DEU2450R is a refrigerator. They share the same 23-1/8 inch depth and the same undercounter chassis, so they fail in much the same ways.
Can a Sub-Zero undercounter unit be used outdoors?
Only a model approved for outdoor use, designated by model and serial number, such as the DEU2450RO. Sub-Zero warrants outdoor product separately, with a full one year warranty plus the five year sealed system cover.
How heavy a panel can an undercounter Sub-Zero carry?
